Mathias Pianowski studied economics, in particular finance and banking, taxation and auditing as well as environmental management and controlling. In his master thesis he wrote his first sustainability report for an international industrial company more than 20 years ago. Since then, he has been working on the subject “sustainable economy and companies”.

For many years Mathias worked as Director of Sustainability and Innovation at the consulting company BCC in Frankfurt/Main and Berlin. He advised corporations and on questions of sustainable development, green finance, development of sustainable business strategies and implementation, engagement of stakeholders, communication and the evolution of sustainable reporting.

In addition, Mathias taught sustainability management and reporting at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He moderates workshops and panels. Mathias is an EFFAS certified ESG analyst..

He currently works for the Sustainable Asset Manager Oekoworld Lux S.A. as Head of Sustainability Research, in the field of regulation and as Managing Director.
