Dr. Moritz Isenmann is a historian by training. During his academic career, he has focused in particular on pre-modern economic history and business ethics. He received his PhD in 2008 from the European University Institute in Florence, and in 2016 he was awarded a “Habilitation” in modern history at the University of Cologne. He is also a Certified Renewable Energy Finance Professional (Frankfurt School of Finance & Management).

Since 2019, he has been working as a Senior Impact and Sustainability Manager for Invest in Visions GmbH. The company, founded in 2006, is a German pioneer in impact investments and oversees assets worth EUR 1 billion (as of March 31,2023). In 2011, Invest in Visions reached an important milestone by initiating the first public microfinance fund in Germany that is also open to retail investors. In addition to microfinance, the financial services provider is also involved in the areas of renewable energies (decentralized projects) and the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises.
