Martin Ertl studied economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). He completed a Master’s degree in Economics at the Barcelona School of Economics and a PhD in Economics at WU. Between 2011 and 2020, he was Chief Economist responsible for macroeconomic analysis at UNIQA Insurance Group AG. Since 2021, he has been a research associate in the Business Cycles, Growth and Public Finance research group at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS). He is responsible for Austrian foreign trade in the IHS forecasting group. His research focuses on macroeconomics and monetary policy as well as business cycle analysis.
