Axel Wilhelm has been a member of the NKI management team since early 2026. After studying economics, he began his career at imug e.V. in Hanover. As founder and long-standing managing director of the rating agency scoris – now known as Sustainalytics GmbH in Frankfurt – he played a key role in shaping the development of ESG ratings in Germany. He then spent several years in portfolio management at Concordia Versicherungen in Hanover before returning to the world of ESG ratings. Most recently, Axel Wilhelm was responsible for the strategic direction and growth in the German-speaking market as a member of the management board of the European ESG rating agency EthiFinance and as managing director of its German subsidiary, the former imug rating GmbH. Axel Wilhelm is a member of the board of the German Forum for Sustainable Investment (FNG).
