Volker Weber holds a degree in Business Administration with a focus on banking and finance. He has been active in the field of sustainable finance for over 25 years. He is a recognized sustainability expert and has excellent connections in politics, business, and civil society. In 2022, he received the Trustee Award, the honorary prize for Personality of the Year.
From September 2007 to November 2022, Volker Weber served as Chairman of the Board of the Forum for Sustainable Investments (FNG). During his tenure as FNG Chairman, the Transparency Code, the FNG Sustainability Profiles, and the FNG Seal were launched. The FNG Seal is now recognized as the German SRI (Sustainable Responsibility) seal. The FNG is a permanent member of the German Federal Government’s Sustainable Finance Advisory Council.
Furthermore, he played a key role in developing the association’s 10-point plan, parts of which are reflected in the EU Action Plan for Sustainable Growth. From 2015 to November 2022, he was also active in the European umbrella organization Eurosif and represented the FNG at the European level.
From September 2019 to November 2025, Volker Weber was CEO and Board Member for Sustainability at NIXDORF Kapital AG, responsible for the company’s sustainability and impact strategy and investments.
Since December 2025, he has been a founder and partner of ISG – Privatinstitut für Nachhaltigkeits- und Impact-Strategien GmbH (Private Institute for Sustainability and Impact Strategies). ISG advises companies, municipalities, foundations, and investors on their projects, helping them achieve, for example, greater innovation, a stronger future outlook, and thus reduced risks through a holistic strategy.
