Tanja Volksheimer
Head of Fund Management
NEXT Generation Invest

My professional background is in architecture. I hold a degree in Architecture from the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, a Master of Science in Technical Building Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz, and certifications as investment advisor in Sustainable and Responsible Investing and Real Estate Investment and Finance from the EBS European Business School. I have also gained extensive international experience in the United States, Italy and New Zealand.

My career spans some 20 years in international investment, asset and portfolio management with a focus on core and core+ strategies. I started as an asset and investment manager for office, light industrial, logistics and retail properties with UK investor GPT Halverton (now Principal). Most recently, I spent almost 14 years at Nuveen Real Estate, the investment manager of the largest US teachers‘ pension fund, where I was responsible for fund management of impact and ESG strategies in the residential and alternative sectors in Germany.

At NEXT Generation Invest AG, as Head of Fund Management, I oversee fund and investment strategies with a particular focus on the development of new impact-oriented investment approaches. I also lead the real estate working group of the German Impact Investing Initiative.
