Finance for Transition – F4T

Tommy Piemonte has been Technical Director at the think-and-do-tank Finance for Transition – F4T gGmbH since January 2026. F4T develops and tests innovative approaches in the pre-competitive arena to systematically bring together capital supply and demand for transition financing. In doing so, it combines fundamental questions of financial and economic transformation with effective financial regulation and an overall fiscal policy concept. As Technical Director, Mr Piemonte’s main task is the content- related management of the fields of action at F4T.
Prior to this, Tommy Piemonte had been Head of Sustainable Investment Research at Bank für Kirche und Caritas eG since July 2016 and, following the merger into Pax-Bank für Kirche und Caritas in June 2025, he took on the role as Engagement Manager. In this context, he was also the Bank’s representative and a founding member of the European engagement network of institutional investors Shareholders for Change. Prior to joining Bank für Kirche und Caritas, Tommy Piemonte was Head of the sustainability rating agency at imug in Hanover (now EthiFinance). Mr. Piemonte studied economics in Nürtingen (Germany) and Rome (Italy). The graduate economist supplemented his experience in sustainability research with many years of experience in the financial market, including as a securities specialist at Deutsche Bank. With this combination of experiences, Mr. Piemonte has written numerous publications on sustainable investment.
