Lorenz Pfanzelter serves as the Country Officer for Germany, Switzerland, and the Nordics at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group. In this role, he leads and oversees the IFC’s engagement across these countries, managing relationships with private sector companies, federal ministries, and development finance institutions. He has 13 years of experience at the intersection of international finance, public policy, and global markets. Before joining the World Bank Group, he was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs, advising clients across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Prior to that, he worked for J.P. Morgan and the Austrian Foreign Service. Lorenz holds degrees from Johns Hopkins University SAIS and the University of St Andrews and has lived and worked across four continents.
