Steffen Köhler, born in 1969, holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Passau. Before working as Executive Director Product Development for Eurex, he had already spent several years with other organisations in the financial industry.

In 2012, Mr. Köhler was appointed as Chief Operating Officer with European Energy Exchange AG. In the same year, he was also appointed as Managing Director of the European Energy Exchange. In addition, he also held the position of Chief Operating Officer of European Commodity Clearing AG between 2012 and 2019. Mr Köhler was appointed as member of the Supervisory Board of Power Exchange Central Europe in 2016, and Nodal Exchange in 2017.
