Walter Hatak is heading the Responsible Investments team of Erste Asset Management since June 2019. Before taking over the lead of responsible investments he was an ESG analyst in the Responsible Investments team for two years.

He started his career in 2009 at the Austrian Cooperative Association (ÖGV) and was responsible for various risk management agendas within the Volksbanken Group for six years. Before joining Erste AM he spent two years at Bankhaus Schelhammer & Schattera initially heading the Risk Management & Fund Controlling and subsequently the Sustainability Investments of the company.

Walter Hatak holds a Master’s degree in International Business Administration from the University of Vienna with focus on Investment Analysis and Controlling as well as a Master’s degree (MA) in Financial Management & Controlling from the University of Applied Sciences – FH Wien.

He holds a CEFA diploma (Certified European Financial Analyst). Additionally, he has produced publications on stresstest methods and portfolio insurance as well as has acted as lecturer on Ethical Investments at the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna.
