Katharina Hartmann is Manager Sustainability Standards at the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), an organization working on sustainability reporting standards at a global level. With over 15 years of public sector and regulatory experience, Katharina Hartmann brings deep expertise in financial policy, capital markets, and the intersection of regulation and sustainable development.

Prior to joining GRI, she held senior roles at the German Federal Ministry of Finance, the Office of the Federal President and the Federal Financial Markets Authority (BaFin), where she led on topics including venture capital policy, financial regulation, and crisis communication.

Katharina Hartmann holds a master’s degree in European studies from the University of Tübingen and a Diplom in Economics from the University of Regensburg, with a focus on corporate finance and capital markets.
