Julian Frede is a seasoned expert in sustainability and impact management, with over 16 years of international experience across multiple countries and regions. For the past four years, he has led and expanded the boutique consultancy evolutiq Impact Advisory as Managing Partner to be the one stop for any question on sustainability and impact. In this role, Julian supports the design and implementation of comprehensive sustainability and impact management systems and strategies for financial portfolios – working primarily with banks, development finance institutions, and private equity funds.

His expertise includes strategy development, regulatory compliance (e.g., SFDR, CSRD), measurement and management systems, and the evaluation and verification of sustainability and impact performance. Prior to co-founding evolutiqIA, Julian spent over eight years at KfW DEG, where he co-developed the globally recognized Development Effectiveness Rating (DERa). He also holds a PhD in development economics and has worked as a freelance consultant in various countries across Sub-Saharan Africa.
