After completing her master’s degree in philosophy and English, Antje Schneeweiß initially worked for different sustainable asset management companies until 1996, when she took over the department of „Socially Responsible Investments“ at the SÜDWIND institute. At SÜDWIND she initiated the mixed mutual fund “Fair World Fund” which follows social and development criteria and today has a volume of over one Billion Euro. Since the end of 2020, she works as the general secretary of the Committe of Church Investors of the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD).
She has published, among other things, the „Guidebook Ethical Investments”, as well as studies on the impact of the financial crisis 2008/9 on developing countries, commodity investments, microfinance, the impact of sustainable investments, green and social bonds and a social taxonomy. Recently she worked out a paper on a “Social Investment Framework” together with the European Associations of Public Banks, the European Association of Ethical and Alternative Banks and the business association “CSR Europe”. She was a member of the German government’s Sustainable Finance Advisory Council and has been the rapporteur for the Social Taxonomy on the EU Commission’s Sustainable Investment Platform 2020 – 2022.
