Oikocredit is a social impact investor and worldwide cooperative. It has over four decades of experience in promoting sustainable development through investments and focuses its investments on financial inclusion (e.g., microfinance), agriculture and renewable energy. The cooperative is guided by the principle of empowering low-income people to improve their livelihoods. Oikocredit supports their 526 partner organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America by providing loans, equity investments and capacity building. The capital raised for the loans amounts to 1.037,2 million euros and comes from around 48.800 investors worldwide. While the social impact and sustainable development is in the foreground for the investors, a dividend of maximum 2% p.a. is paid for the investment.

Oikocredit has been present in Austria since 1990. In Austria, there are more than 6.500 members who invest about 127 million euros in Oikocredit.
