Johannes M. Kneer is Director at YIELCO Investments. As the ESG Working Group Lead, Johannes acts as the interface between the ESG Committee and the ESG Working Group. In this role, he has played a key role in the development and implementation of the sustainable investing and ESG strategy. The focus here is on the integration and operational implementation of ESG in the investment processes – from binding exclusion criteria to systematic internal and external ESG monitoring and reporting to the continuous development of ESG due diligence. Already in 2017, he conducted a broad market study on the topic of impact investing. He has been with YIELCO since 2014 and has since been involved in the selection, due diligence, and execution of over 50 fund investments and co- investments with cumulative committed capital of >EUR 2 billion. He accompanied the introduction of YIELCO’s private equity strategy from the conception phase to the development of the portfolio with an investment focus in Europe and the US. Before joining YIELCO, he gained experience in project planning, design and financing of renewable energy plants. Johannes Kneer holds a degree in geography from the University of Bonn, with a focus on economic and financial geography as well as resource and environmental economics. His thesis dealt with the role of institutional investors in the energy transition.
