Sophie holds vast experience in the field of impact and sustainability in various functions and sectors. Having gained experience with regard to the implementation of the sustainability strategy of one of the world’s largest insurance companies early on in her career, she soon took the decision to dedicate her professional career to “doing good”. As a consultant at one of Germany’s leading players in international development cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), Sophie subsequently advised political decision-makers around the globe on a wide range of issues related to sustainability transformations in the energy, building and mobility sectors. Since early 2021, she is in charge of the Impact and Sustainable Finance division of NEXT Generation Invest – a specialized Real Asset Investment Manager driven by impact. In the past, she was a board-member of the Bundesinitiative Impact Investing and co-lead its real estate working group. Sophie holds two Master of Science degrees, namely in Ecological Economics (The University of Edinburgh) as well as International Economics and Economic Policy (Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University). She was moreover a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation.
