Thomas works as a Vice President in the Sustainability & Climate Specialists Team of MSCI focusing on clients in the GAUS region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). In his daily work, he is supporting banks, insurances, asset managers and asset owners on their sustainability journey. His key expertise lies in the field of ESG regulations as well as the integration of sustainability and climate into investment strategies and portfolio and risk management processes.
Prior to joining MSCI, he worked for more around six years in Consulting where he was working on projects in the field of climate finance, portfolio carbon footprinting, climate risks and target setting as well as the economics of renewable energy. As part of his work, he was also heavily involved in setting up the Partnership Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), an initiative of financial institutions aiming to harmonize and standardize carbon accounting in the financial industry.
Thomas studied in Germany, Australia and France and holds a M.Sc. in Climate and Resource Economics, a B.Sc. in Economics and a B.Sc. in Geography.
