Jens Güldner has been responsible for asset and foundation management at Johannesstift Diakonie in Berlin since 2008, following the merger with Paul Gerhardt Diakonie in 2018. Since 2015, he has volunteered on the board of the Werner and Maren Otto Foundation, initially as Chief Financial Officer and from 2018 as Chairman of the Board. After studying economics at Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg, he joined Commerzbank in 1991, where he began his career in the Private Clients division, but quickly found his next long-term professional field of activity in the bank’s Corporate Clients division. In 2001, he moved to the „Remembrance, Responsibility and Future“ Foundation, which was to shape his future career path. In 2008, he began working at the Evangelisches Johannesstift, where he set up asset management in accordance with institutional principles, including ethical and sustainable investment principles. Jens Güldner works in various associations and working groups, such as the Federal Association of German Foundations, the Forum for Sustainable Investments and CRIC, and was one of the founding members of the working group of church investors in the Protestant Church together with the Evangelical Johannesstift. Jens Güldner publishes regularly in the institutional trade press and in the foundation sector and has co-authored specialist books on ETFs, sustainable investments and impact investing. He has been honoured many times in his work with the Portfolio Institutionell Awards in various categories, most recently in 2022 in the categories „Best Sustainable Investor“, „Best Investor Fixed Income“ and 2023 in the category „Best Investor in Equities“, in the category „Best Risk Management“ in 2024.
