Ulf Doerner holds an engineering degree in automation & control and has been an independent consultant and conservation activist since 1989. His professional scope of sustainability-related expertise includes development and implementation of circular- economy services, product lifecycle designs and environmental management systems (EMAS, ISO 14000) within the automotive, pharma, electronics and computer industry. Since 1996 Ulf has been a founding member of various Sustainability Councils providing ESG-Advisory for the financial sector. Over the years his work has earned him international recognitions from both governments, industry and conservation agencies. Ulf’s campaign against non-sustainable mining practices in wilderness areas with exceptional biodiversity – while advocating for sustainable land use options – proved to be instrumental to protect South Africa’s „Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park (iSimangaliso)“ under the UNESCO World Heritage Convention framework. Ulf is a passionate wildlife photographer and a member of the Club of Rome (EU Chapter).
