Thomas has been working in the financial industry for over 35 years. After successfully completing his law degree in Basel, he completed a financial internship and later managed funds of institutional clients as a portfolio manager. After positions as assistant to the management of a supra-regional bank in Switzerland, where he built up the fund business, and the foundation and management of one of the first internet banks in Switzerland, he later expanded the private label fund business of a large provider in Switzerland and Luxembourg. Most recently, he was responsible for the expansion and distribution of investment products for a large Swiss insurance company. As a result, he has relevant experience in joining and running large projects in Switzerland and Luxembourg.

For many years, Thomas served as Swiss representative on the boards of various Luxembourg funds, most recently Chairman of a self-managed SIF SICAV primarily invested in alternative investments. He has extensive knowledge and experience in various aspects of the financial services industry in Switzerland and the EU.
Furthermore, he was focusing on sales and distribution topics over the past years. In his position at AvelaLaw Thomas is primarily responsible for the distribution of our VELA ICS tool. In addition to strategic questions, he also focuses on general business development.
