MMag. Peter Bohynik was born in Slovakia in 1975. He graduated from the HTL in Banska Bystrica in the field of telecommunications and studied theology and education at Commenius University. In 2002, he graduated from the University of Vienna with a degree in specialised theology and in 2004 with a degree in independent religious education and completed his studies in knowledge and personnel management at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences. From July 1997 to September 1998, he did his civilian service in a home for single mothers and young people with difficult upbringing. In 2002/03 he was a volunteer at the Austrian Hospice in Jerusalem, 2003-2009 pastoral assistant in the parish of Bruck/Leitha, 2009-2013 educational assistant at the Catholic Biblical Organisation in Austria. From 2006-2009 he attended the course for Integrative Gestalt Pedagogy. In 2014, he took over the management and rebuilding of the Quo Vadis meeting and information centre in Vienna. In 2015, he took over the office management of the Austrian Conference of Religious Orders. He was appointed Secretary General at the General Assembly on 26 November 2018. Since 1 May 2020, he has been Managing Director of the Austrian Conference of Religious Orders and in this role takes on the tasks of operational management and organisation.
